The Three Types of Concentration (Samādhi / समाधि)

| Upacārasamādhi | उपचारसमाधि | Access Concentration: Concentration that nears absorption by suppressing the hindrances. It is “neighborhood” concentration. |
| Appanāsamādhi | अर्पणासमाधि | Absorption Concentration: An unshakable state where the mind is fully absorbed into the object (the Jhanas). |
| Khaṇikasamādhi | क्षणिकसमाधि | Momentary Concentration: Strong, clear concentration on changing mental/physical phenomena, occurring moment-to-moment during insight. |
