तत्र भिक्षवः कतमानि सप्त बोध्यङ्गानि ?
Translation
There, O monks, what are the seven factors of enlightenment?

यदुत स्मृतिसंबोध्यङ्गं धर्मप्रविचयसंबोध्यङ्गं वीर्यसंबोध्यङ्गं प्रीतिसंबोध्यङ्गं प्रस्रब्धिसंबोध्यङ्गं समाधिसंबोध्यङ्गं उपेक्षासंबोध्यङ्गम्॥
Translation
Namely: the factor of mindfulness, the factor of investigation of phenomena, the factor of energy, the factor of joy, the factor of tranquility, the factor of concentration, and the factor of equanimity.

इह भिक्षवो भिक्षुः स्मृतिसंबोध्यङ्गं भावयति विवेकनिश्रितं विरागनिश्रितं निरोधनिश्रितं व्यवसर्गपरिणतम्॥
Translation
Here, O monks, a monk develops the enlightenment-factor of mindfulness, which relies on seclusion, relies on dispassion, relies on cessation, and ends in relinquishment.
