कतमे भिक्षवोऽष्टादशावेणिका बुद्धधर्माः?

Translation

Monks, what are the eighteen unique qualities (āveṇika) of a Buddha?

2. नास्ति रवितम्There is no noisiness (impulsiveness).
3. नास्ति मुषितस्मृतिताThere is no loss of mindfulness.
4. नास्ति (अ)समाहितं चित्तम्There is no lack of concentration.
5. नास्ति नानात्वसंज्ञाThere is no perception of diversity (distraction).
6. नास्त्यप्रतिसंख्यायोपेक्षाThere is no unexamined equanimity.
Zeal7. नास्ति छन्दस्य हानिःThere is no loss of zeal/aspiration.
8. नास्ति वीर्यस्य हानिःThere is no loss of energy.
9. नास्ति स्मृतेर्हानिःThere is no loss of mindfulness.
10. नास्ति प्रज्ञाहानिःThere is no loss of wisdom.
11. नास्ति विमुक्तेर्हानिःThere is no loss of liberation.
12. त्रिविमुक्तिज्ञानदर्शनानि(No loss of) the vision of knowledge of liberation.
Knowledge13. अतीतेऽध्वन्यसङ्गमप्रतिहतं ज्ञानदर्शनम्Unobstructed knowledge of the past.
14. अनागतेऽध्वन्यसङ्गमप्रतिहतं ज्ञानदर्शनम्Unobstructed knowledge of the future.
15. प्रत्युत्पन्नेऽध्वन्यसङ्गमप्रतिहतं ज्ञानदर्शनम्Unobstructed knowledge of the present.
Actions16. सर्वकायकर्मज्ञानपूर्वकं…All physical acts are preceded and followed by knowledge.
17. सर्ववाक्कर्मज्ञापूर्वकं…All verbal acts are preceded and followed by knowledge.
18. सर्वमनःकर्मज्ञानपूर्वकं…All mental acts are preceded and followed by knowledge.
