Tattvabodha - Verse 1.0

साधनचतुष्टयं किम् ? नित्यानित्यवस्तुविवेकः । इहामुत्रार्थफलभोगविरागः । शमादिषट्कसम्पत्तिः । मुमुक्षुत्वं चेति ।

Transliteration

sādhanacatuṣṭayaṃ kim ? nityānityavastuvivekaḥ . ihāmutrārthaphalabhogavirāgaḥ . śamādiṣaṭkasampattiḥ . mumukṣutvaṃ ceti .

Translation

What is the fourfold qualification? (It is) the discrimination between the eternal and the ephemeral, dispassion for the enjoyment of the fruits of one’s actions in this world and the next, the sixfold treasure of virtues (starting with calmness), and the intense longing for liberation.
