Translation
The reflection of Brahman within the gross body is called the Jiva. By nature, this Jiva perceives Ishvara (the Lord) as different from itself. When the Atman is associated with the limitation (Upadhi) of ignorance, it is called Jiva. When associated with the limitation of Maya, it is called Ishvara. As long as the notion of difference between Jiva and Ishvara remains due to these limitations, the cycle of birth and death (Samsara) will not cease. Therefore, the idea of difference between Jiva and Ishvara should not be accepted.
