तदानीमाकाशे शब्दोऽभिव्यज्यते वायौ शब्दस्पर्शावग्नौ शब्दस्पर्शरूपाण्यप्सु शब्दस्पर्शरूपरसाः पृथिव्यां शब्दस्पर्शरूपरसगन्धाश्च

Swami Nikhilananda's Translation

At that time ether manifests sound; air manifests sound and touch; fire sound, touch and form; water sound, touch, form and taste; and earth manifests sound, touch, form, taste and smell.
