Vedantasara - Verse 104

एतेभ्यः पञ्चीकृतेभ्यो भूतेभ्यो भूर्भुवःस्वर्महर्जनस्तपःसत्य- मित्येतन्नामकानामुपर्युपरिविद्यमानानामतलवितलसुतलरसातल- तलातलमहातलपातालनामकानामधोऽधोविद्यमानानां लोकानां ब्रह्माण्डस्य तदन्तर्गतचतुर्विधस्थूलशरीराणां तदुचितानामन्नपानादीनां चोत्पत्तिर्भवति

Swami Nikhilananda's Translation

From these compounded elements have evolved the seven planes, existing one above the other, viz., Bhur, Bhuvar, Svar, Mahar, Jana, tapas and Satyam; and the seven nether planes, one below the other, viz., Atala, Vitala, Sutala, Rasatala, Talatala, Mahatala and Patala; the world, the four kinds of gross bodies contained in it together with the food and drink appropriate to them.
