Vedantasara - Verse 158

Sanskrit

तदुक्तम् - “संसर्गो वा विशिष्टो वा वाक्यार्थो नात्र सम्मतः । अखण्डैकरसत्वेन वाक्यार्थो विदुषां मतः ॥” इति (पञ्चदशी ७.७५)

Swami Nikhilananda's Translation

Therefore it has been said: “In this sentence (“Thou art That”), the correct meaning is neither the union of the two ideas nor their mutual qualification. The real meaning of the sentence, according to scholars, is an absolute homogeneous principle.” (Panchadasi VII-75).
