Vedantasara - Verse 178

Sanskrit

तथाहि । अयं घट इति घटाकाराकारितचित्तवृत्तिरज्ञातं घटं विषयीकृत्य तद्गताज्ञाननिरसनपुरःसरं स्वगतचिदाभासेन जडं घटमपि भासयति

Swami Nikhilananda's Translation

Because, in the case of the experience, “This is a jar”, the mental state assumes the form of the jar, makes the unknown jar its object and dispels the ignorance regarding it. Then the Consciousness underlying the mental state manifests the material jar.
