Vedantasara - Verse 180

Sanskrit

यथा दीपप्रभामण्डलमन्दकारगतं घटपटादिकं विषयीकृत्य तद्गतान्धकारनिरसनपुरःसरं स्वप्रभया तदपि भासयतीति

Swami Nikhilananda's Translation

Just as the light of a lamp coming into contact with a jar or cloth existing in darkness, dispels the darkness which envelops them and through its own lustre manifests them as well.
