Vedantasara - Verse 181

एवं भूतस्वस्वरूपचैतन्यसाक्षात्कारपर्यन्तं श्रवणमनन- निदिध्यासनसमाध्यनुष्ठानस्यापेक्षितत्वात्तेऽपि प्रदर्श्यन्ते

Swami Nikhilananda's Translation

Till such realization of the Consciousness which is one’s own Self, it is necessary to practise hearing, reflection, meditation and absorption (Samadhi). Therefore these are also being explained.
