karmaphalopabhogānāṃ kṣemārādhanaḥ śamaḥ ||

Translation

6.2.01: Peace (rest/stabilization) and Industry (effort/exertion) are the source of Acquisition (Yoga) and Security (Kshema).

6.2.02: Industry (Vyayama) is the means of accomplishing the start of new works and the acquisition of things not already possessed (Yoga).

6.2.03: Peace (Shama) is the means of enjoying the fruits of one’s work and the security of things already possessed (Kshema).

Personal Rule

Success is a pulse between Vyayama (Hustle/Growth) and Shama (Maintenance/Rest). If you only have Vyayama, you burn out and lose what you’ve built. If you only have Shama, you stagnate and acquire nothing new.
