Verse 27.13

स्वरूपं ते वज्रं वियति रजसां सूक्ष्ममहसा-
मुपाधिस्ते स्तोमो भवति चपला काऽपि तनुभा ।
अरुद्धा ते व्याप्तिर्बलमखिलदत्तं बलनिधेः
सहस्रांशः स्वस्य प्रभवसि समस्तस्य च शिवे ॥ २७.१३॥

स्वरूपम् (Nature/Form) ते (Your) वज्रम् (Adamantine/Thunderbolt) वियति (in the sky) रजसाम् (of particles) सूक्ष्म-महसाम् (of subtle lights) उपाधिः-ते (your vehicle/medium) स्तोमः (a mass/cloud) भवति (becomes) चपला (lightning) का-अपि (some/ineffable) तनु-भा (slender radiance) अरुद्धा (unobstructed) ते (your) व्याप्तिः (pervasion) बलम्-अखिल-दत्तम् (all power granted) बल-निधेः (from the Ocean of Power) सहस्र-अंशः (thousandth part) स्वस्य (of your own) प्रभवसि (you are the source) समस्तस्य (of the whole) च (and) शिवे (O Auspicious One).
Translation
O Auspicious One! Your nature is the thunderbolt in the sky made of subtle particles of light; a mass of clouds is your vehicle, and you manifest as the slender radiance of lightning; your pervasion is unobstructed, your power is granted by the Ocean of Power (Shiva), and as a mere thousandth part of Yourself, You are the source of the entire universe.
Verse 27.14

यतः कालव्याजात्पचसि भुवनं वैद्युतमहः-
प्रभावात्कालीं त्वामयि विदुरतः पण्डितवराः ।
प्रभोः शस्त्रं भूत्वा दहसि यदरीन्वज्रवपुषा
प्रचण्डां चण्डीं तद्भगवति भणन्त्यक्षयबले ॥ २७.१४॥

यतः (Because) काल-व्याजात् (on the pretext of Time) पचसि (you cook/consume) भुवनम् (the universe) वैद्युत-महः-प्रभावात् (due to the power of electric light) कालीम् (Kali) त्वाम् (You) अयि (O) विदुः-अतः (know therefore) पण्डित-वराः (the best of scholars) प्रभोः (of the Lord) शस्त्रम् (weapon) भूत्वा (having become) दहसि (you burn) यत्-अरीन् (those enemies) वज्र-वपुषा (with a body of thunderbolt) प्रचण्डाम् (terrible) चण्डीम् (Chandi) तत्-भगवति (that, O Goddess) भणन्ति-अक्षय-बले (they call You, O One of inexhaustible power).
Translation
O Goddess of inexhaustible power! Because You consume the universe on the pretext of Time and through the majesty of electric radiance, the greatest scholars know You as Kali; and because You become the weapon of the Lord to burn enemies with Your adamantine body, they call You the terrible Chandi.
