Verse 7.19 (The Four Aspects of Maya)
Sanskrit
त्वं लोकराज्ञि परमात्मनि मूलमाया शक्रे समस्तसुरभर्तरि जालमाया ।

Translation
In the Supreme Soul, You are the Primordial Power (Mula-Maya); in Indra, the sustainer of gods, You are the Illusion of Grandeur (Jala-Maya); in the individual soul, You are the Power of Union (Yoga-Maya); and in hearts attached to the world, You are the Binding Noose (Pasha-Maya).
Verse 7.20 (The Four Aspects of Nidra)
Sanskrit
त्वं भूतभर्तरि भवस्यनुभूतिनिद्रा सोमस्यपातरि बिडौजसि मोदनिद्रा ।

Translation
In Lord Shiva, You are the Sleep of pure Consciousness; in Indra, the consumer of Soma, You are the Sleep of sensory Pleasure; in the Being within the Sun, You are the Sleep of cosmic Union (Yoga-Nidra); and in hearts drowned in worldliness, You are the Sleep of total Ignorance.
Levels of Manifestation Table
| Level | Manifestation of Maya (Illusion) | Manifestation of Nidra (Rest) |
|---|---|---|
| Supreme (Shiva) | Mula-Maya: The fundamental “software” of the universe. | Anubhuti: A sleep that is actually the highest “Experience.” |
| Cosmic (Sun/Soul) | Yoga-Maya: The power that hides the truth to facilitate the “game” of union. | Yoga-Nidra: Conscious sleep (like Vishnu on the serpent). |
| Celestial (Indra) | Jala-Maya: A “net” of appearances, power, and celestial magic. | Moda-Nidra: The deep rest that follows great enjoyment. |
| Mundane (Ego) | Pasha-Maya: The “noose” that keeps us tied to our habits and fears. | Moha-Nidra: The “coma” of ignorance where we forget who we really are. |
Summary Note: The Twofold Power
It is the one single Power of Your incomparable majesty that assumes manifold forms due to the necessities of cosmic action; when She is engaged with external objects, She is called Maya, and when Your mind becomes quiet and withdrawn, She is called Nidra. Like a creeper bursting with flowers, Your Power is eternally established within the Supreme Reality of Shiva; and within that Power, this entire profound and beautiful universe is born as a mere reflection of the shining Lord.
