Verse 9.11

Sanskrit

ञ इव ज्ञदृश्य उत्तम इलाधराधीशनन्दिनीहासः ।
पूर्णं करोतु मानसमभिलाषं सर्वमस्माकम् ॥ ९.११॥

Word-by-word

ञ इव (like the letter ‘ña’) ज्ञ-दृश्यः (visible to the wise/knowers) उत्तमः (supreme) इलाधर-अधीश-नन्दिनी-हासः (the smile of the daughter of the King of mountains) पूर्णम् करोतु (may it fulfill) मानसम् (mental) अभिलाषम् (desire) सर्वम् (all) अस्माकम् (our).

Translation

May the supreme smile of the Daughter of the Mountain King—which, like the crescent-shaped letter ‘ña’, is visible to the wise—completely fulfill all the desires of our hearts.

ब्रह्माण्डरङ्गभाजो नट्याः शिवसूत्रधारसहचर्याः ।
श्रीवर्धनोऽनुलेपो मुखस्य हासः पुनात्वस्मान् ॥ ९.१६॥

Word-by-word

ब्रह्माण्ड-रङ्ग-भाजो (of her who occupies the stage of the universe) नट्याः (of the Dancer/Actress) शिव-सूत्रधार-सहचर्याः (of the companion of the director Shiva) श्री-वर्धनः (the enhancer of beauty/grace) अनुलेपः (the cosmetic ointment) मुखस्य (of the face) हासः (the smile) पुनातु (may it purify) अस्मान् (us).

Translation

May the smile on the face of the Divine Actress—who performs upon the stage of the universe and is the companion of the Director Shiva—purify us, acting as the auspicious cosmetic that enhances Her radiant beauty.
