Upadesha Sara - Verse 4

Sanskrit

कायवाङ्मनः कार्यमुत्तमम् ।
पूजनं जपश्चिन्तनं क्रमात् ॥ ४॥

Transliteration

kāyavāṅ-manaḥ kārya-muttamam
  pūjanaṁ japa-ścintanaṁ kramāt

Translation

This is certain:
Worship, praise and meditation,
Being work of body, speech and mind,
Are steps for orderly ascent.

कायकार्यं पूजनं वाक्काय्यं जपः मनः कार्यं चिन्तनं चेति क्रमान्वयो बोध्यः । One should understand the sequential connection: physical action is Puja, vocal action is Japa, and mental action is Chintanam (contemplation).
