होरादयस्तनुकुटुम्बसहोत्थबन्धुपुत्रारिपत्नी-मरणानि शुभास्पदायाः । रिःफाख्यम् इत्युपचयान्यरिकर्मलाभदुश्चिक्य-संज्ञितगृहाणि न नित्यम् एके ॥ १५॥

Transliteration

horādayastanukuṭumbasahotthabandhuputrāripatnī-maraṇāni śubhāspadāyāḥ | riḥphākhyam ityupacayānyarikarmalābhaduścikya-saṃjñitagṛhāṇi na nityam eke || 15||

Translation

Beginning with the Ascendant (Lagna), the houses signify the physical body, family, siblings, relatives, offspring, enemies, spouse, and death; followed by fortune, profession, gains, and losses. The Upachaya (growth) houses are the 3rd, 6th, 10th, and 11th; however, some authorities differ on this classification.
