बुधसूर्यसुतौनपुंसकाखौ शशिशुक्रौ युवती नराश्च शेषाः । शिखिभूखपयोमरुद्गणानां वशिनो भूमि सुतादयः क्रमेण ॥ ६॥

Transliteration

budhasūryasutaunapuṃsakākhau śaśiśukrau yuvatī narāśca śeṣāḥ | śikhibhūkhapayomarudgaṇānāṃ vaśino bhūmi sutādayaḥ krameṇa || 6||

budha—Mercury; sūryasuta—Saturn (the son of the Sun) budhasūryasutau—Mercury and Saturn; napuṃsaka—hermaphrodite; ākha—considered; napuṃsakākhau—both considered hermaphrodites; śaśi—the Moon; śukra—Venus; śaśiśukrau—the Moon and Venus; yuvatī—two young women; narās—men; ca—and; śeṣās—the remaining; śikhin—fire; bhū—earth kha = ether; payas—water marut = air; gaṇa—category śikhibhūkhapayomarudgaṇānām—of the categories of fire, earth, ether, water, and air; vaśinas—the lords; bhūmisuta—Mars; ādi—beginning with; bhūmisutādayas—Mars, etc. (Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn)

Translation

Mercury and Saturn are eunuchs, Moon and Venus are female, while the others are male. The elements starting from fire are ruled by Mars (fire), Mercury (earth), Jupiter (ether), Venus (water), and Saturn (air).
